Volunteers From Lutheran Redeemer Of Spokane

LutheranAt the beginning of the summer, we had a group of volunteers come into the Union Gospel Mission and Friendship House. They were from Lutheran Redeemer Youth Group in Spokane, WA., This was part of their service project. While at the mission they helped clean up the food annex, prepared part of the lunch for our guests, and then served lunch. At Friendship House they cleaned some of the rooms, swept the parking lot, and helped with lunch among other things.

I asked what other things they had been doing on their trip they said that they hadLutheran 2 painted stripes on a church parking lot, stripped paint from a bus in Forks, helped on an Adopt a Highway project and picked Poison Hemlock.

From talking to them, I felt they enjoyed doing random acts of kindness the most. They told me they bought some people meals, bought a dog some treats, and even paid for some bad advice.

One of the best parts about working at the Union Gospel Mission and Friendship House is meeting the wonderful folks who want to come in and help. Also hearing their stories.

Thank you Spokane Lutheran Redeemer, for including Union Gospel Mission of Grays Harbor in your Service project.
