A “Lady” at Friendship House

Reatha

Reatha has been with us twice so far this year. She is in the process of regaining custody of her son. Last week she began unsupervised visits at Friendship House. This is a big accomplishment. You have to work very hard to be trusted to have unsupervised visits.

At the tea, her testimony was that she had learned how to be a “lady” at Friendship House. Reatha was so hungry to please, that it wasn’t that hard. I haven’t had to talk to her more than once about a behavior. She has a very sweet spirit. So this morning I received a call from Karen Brown at Robert Gray concerning a quilt her class has made to be given to a family. Reatha and her son seemed like the ideal family to give it to. She was so excited, she could hardly contain herself.

Mary, Andrea and I are always glad to have the chance to help those who are really trying. I do believe Reatha will continue making the changes that count.
